Cumberland sites recognized under Heritage Conservation Act

Two Cumberland landmarks are being recognized by the Province.

Coal Creek Park and the Chinese Cemetery have been designated under the Heritage Conservation Act.

Comox Valley MLA Don McRae says recognition of Chinese-Canadian history was one of the things the government heard a lot about through the Chinese Historical Wrongs Consultation.

Historic plaques will be placed at the sites and they will be featured on Heritage BC’s website.

McRae says this is a great way to recognize the region’s history and the recognition a strong impact on families still living in the Comox Valley today.
