The Comox Fire Department is seeing an increase in interest in wildfire kits.
Chief Gord Schreiner says the kits have been available for several months, but interest is increasing with the change in the weather.
Schreiner notes that the next couple of weeks could see fires that can spread quickly. He notes it’s important to always be prepared for a wildfire.
Schreiner says the kits also allow the fire department to hook up to the system to protect the property if there’s a fire burning near by.
