Fire departments brace for a hot summer

The region’s fire departments are bracing themselves for what will likely be one long, hot summer.

That’s the bottom line from Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner. He says even with recent rainfall, we’re in the transition phase leading up to another possible scorcher of a summer!

Schreiner says BC Government officials are also expecting a busy season when it comes to forest fire activity.

He says forest service crews have already jumped into action on a couple of forest fires in the province.
