Fatal logging accident under investigation

The BC Coroners Service has now confirmed the identity of a man who died while working on a logging operation near Port McNeill on July 24th.

The Coroner says 38 year old Jeremy Tanaka of Port Hardy was working at a local logging operation when he was struck by a dislodged tree at about 8:15 a.m. on July 24th, and was pronounced deceased at the
scene.

The BC Coroners Service, RCMP and WorkSafe BC are continuing to investigate the fatality.

The family of Tanaka has now been notified of his death.
