Braidwood project moves forward

Some good news now out of Courtenay city council regarding on the Braidwood housing project.

Council has approved the selection of M’akola Group of Societies and the Wachiay Friendship Centre as joint sponsors on the project.

Wachiay spokesperson Roger Kishi says this is a very positive move forward.

The request for proposal put towards council gained the interest from multiple groups, including Comox Bay Care Society and AIDS Vancouver Island.

The Braidwood project looks to address homelessness and affordable housing in the Comox Valley by providing care for residents in need.
