Construction to add an extra lane and other improvements on a section of Lerwick Road is set to begin.
Starting Tuesday, September 8, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm weekdays, Lerwick Road will be reduced to two
lanes between Malahat Drive and the entrance to Thrifty Foods Crown Isle Plaza. Construction is
scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
City officials say one lane of traffic in both directions will be maintained.
The improvements will add an extra driving lane, as well as new sidewalks and fencing.
Traffic control personnel will be on-site to assist all commuters, including vehicles, cyclists, and
pedestrians.
