Inland Island Highway re-opens after logging truck crash

Traffic came to a standstill this afternoon after a logging truck crash shut down both the north and southbound lanes of the Inland Island Highway north of Courtenay, four kilometres north of the turnoff to Mount Washington.

There were no injuries but logs spilled onto the highway forcing the closure for several hours, the highway re-opened late this afternoon.

RCMP are investigating, no word on any charges.
