October is breast cancer awareness month, and firefighters in Campbell River are doing something special to help raise awareness and support the cause.

Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Doherty says crew members have swapped out their navy blue uniforms for bright pink T-shirts.

He says this is the 3rd year they’ve supported breast cancer awareness month by wearing the shirts.

Doherty adds you can also get involved and support the cause.

So swing on by the fire station in downtown Campbell River to support breast cancer awareness month.

Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner says his crews won’t be wearing the pink t-shirts, but are also strong supporters of the cause.
