Boil water advisory lifted for Village of Cumberland

Good news for Cumberland residents. The boil water advisory issued for the Cumberland water system last week has been lifted, according to village CAO Sundance Topham.

The advisory was put into place after ecoli was found in a water sample, but Topham assures residents that you can go back to drinking and using water as you normally would in the Village of Cumberland.

The advisory had no effect on the Royston area, which is also a part of the Cumberland water system, and officials from the Comox Valley Regional District says there are no advisory’s in effect for the Comox Valley water system.
