Burning ban in place in the Comox Valley

A burning ban has been put in place in the Comox Valley due to issues with Air Quality.

The Ministry of Environment and Island Health issued the air quality advisory this morning.

Air Quality Meteorologist Earle Plain says a burning ban has been put in place until the weather changes.

Plain says there is an inversion in the Valley right now that is trapping smoke in the area.

He adds the weather is set to change in the next 24 to 48 hours, which will help to clear the smoke from the area.
