The City of Courtenay is testing out a new flood mitigation tool.
The Old Island Highway between Ryan and Headquarters will be shut down Thursday while the city tests out an Aqua Dam.
CAO David Allen says it’s a chance for the city to test out the dam before any potential flooding.
The test is scheduled to run between 7:30 and 4. A detour will be in place while the test is underway.
