Developers have approached Courtenay Council, asking for a firm decision on whether 11th street would be a location for a third river crossing.

Spokesperson John Chislett says several consulting reports have mentioned 11th street as an option, but no decision has been made.

Chislett says two proposed redevelopment plans have been stalled because of the uncertainty.

Chislett says developers need a concrete answer before moving forward.

The President of the Downtown Courtenay BIA wrote to council in support of one of the projects, saying it would be a positive move for the revitalization of the downtown core.
