A group of Comox Valley volunteers have returned home after a safe trip to Vancouver to welcome Syrian refugees this past weekend.

Tia Lawrence organized a stuffie drive, to collect toys for the children arriving in Canada. She and some volunteers met the children on the weekend.

Lawrence says it was an amazing experience for her and the members of the campaign. She says an Armenian Church sponsored 90 Syrian refugees and organizers of the stuffie drive were able to be involved with the church in passing along the stuffies.

The group will be returning to Vancouver later this month.
