The Town of Comox is turning purple this week.
Mayor Paul Ives says February 1st to the 7th is National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. He says the lights strands near the mall, at the town circle, will be turned purple.
He says the week aims to raise awareness about eating disorders and help with early prevention when it comes to eating disorders. He adds there are a lot of stigmas surrounding eating disorders.
Residents in Comox and in the Comox Valley are also urged to wear purple on Friday to show their support for National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
