The Village of Cumberland will be writing a letter of support for the Maple Lake Fundraising Committee.
Acting Mayor of Cumberland, Jesse Kelter, says the committee requested a formal letter of support from Village Council. She says it’s an important location for the entire Comox Valley, with great fishing and biking for residents.
The committee is beginning to actively seek grant funding, with the goal of acquiring the lake and wetlands as a public park.
Kelter says this goes along with the village’s strategic priority of acquiring more park land.
