A boil water advisory is in effect for users of the Comox Valley water system.
CVRD spokesperson Koreen Gurak says the intense rainfall caused elevated turbidity levels and water is currently being drawn directly from the Puntledge River due to some maintenance work being done on the system.
The boil water advisory will be in place until further notice.
Gurak notes the advisory does not affect residents in the Sandwick Water District or those on the Village of Cumberland, Royston, or Black Creek-Oyster River water systems.
