The Comox Valley RCMP are investigating a cycling accident allegedly caused by bullying.
RCMP Constable Rob Gardner says an 11-year-old male was biking at Hobson Park, near 10th Street East and Hobson Avenue on March 7th at approximately 5 PM. He was called a name by a group of unknown males, who proceeded to throw a rock at the cyclist.
The rock hit the front tire of the bike and the 11-year-old crashed.
Gardner says the boy suffered an injury and was taken to hospital for overnight observation.
Gardner says one suspect was described wearing a black hoody with white writing on the back. He adds the RCMP are looking for witnesses, and if you have any information – contact local authorities.
