RCMP say bullies caused cyclist to crash

The Comox Valley RCMP are investigating a cycling accident allegedly caused by bullying.

RCMP Constable Rob Gardner says an 11-year-old male was biking at Hobson Park, near 10th Street East and Hobson Avenue on March 7th at approximately 5 PM. He was called a name by a group of unknown males, who proceeded to throw a rock at the cyclist.

The rock hit the front tire of the bike and the 11-year-old crashed.

Gardner says the boy suffered an injury and was taken to hospital for overnight observation.
