A protocol agreement has been signed between the K’ómoks First Nation and the City of Courtenay.
An official signing ceremony was held yesterday. Courtenay Mayor Larry Jangula says the agreement covers the extension of city services to the IR2 lands.
Jangula says it was a wonderful ceremony. He notes it’s a winning situation for both parties.
Jangula says there are still a few details to be worked out, but he estimates work could begin on expanding the services this summer.
