The Puntledge River Generation station is currently out of service.
BC Hydro spokesperson Stephen Watson says crews are working on fixing the issue. He notes they’re hoping to have it back in service in early April.
Watson notes residents should be careful around the Stotan Falls area. BC Hydro has been providing a 17 to 20 cubic metre/second flow release from the dam for downstream fish habitat since last Friday.
Watson says this week they’ve increased the discharge rate to about 32 cubic metres/second in the Puntledge River system.

In addition to Stotan Falls, Watson says residents should be careful around the Barbers Hole and Nymph Falls areas in the Comox Valley.
