Funding to fight invasive plants in BC
The provincial government has provided $1.7 million in grants to fight invasive plants in BC.
Spokesperson Rachelle McElroy from the Coastal Invasive Species Committee says they received over $13,000 for their programs.
McElroy says their programs are successful because they work with community partners such as local governments, community groups, and First Nations.
McElroy says you can report invasive species easily by downloading the weed app to your phone. For more details, visit the Coastal Invasive Species Committee website.
