Valley rescue crews participate in joint training exercise

Emergency crews throughout the Comox Valley participated in a joint training exercise over the weekend.

Courtenay Fire assistant chief Dennis Henderson took charge of the event, and says it was great to get everyone working together.

Henderson notes they’ve established a system where they can refer to each firefighter by a number and not by what department they work with.

Henderson says the event was a great way to build chemistry, especially if a major disaster were to hit the region.
