Comox Fire is showing its support for those affected by the Fort McMurray wildfire.
Fire Chief Gord Schreiner says it’s very important for the local fire crews to support their counterparts in other provinces. He says they will be holding a fundraising BBQ and car wash to raise funds for the relief efforts in Fort McMurray.
Schreiner says something like the fire in Fort McMurray could very well happen in the Comox Valley. He notes that other departments would step up to help out the community, as well.
The fundraising BBQ and car wash runs from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Comox Fire Hall.
