Wildfire crews are gearing up for the busy summer season.

Crews took part in hover exit training last week.

Fire Information Officer Marg Drysdale says crews need to practice exiting a helicopter due to the remote and rocky terrain on the coast. She notes that there are a lot of places that are impossible to get there by road, so helicopters come into good use.

Drysdale notes that while campfires are still allowed on the coast, people must ensure they are fully out and cold to the touch before leaving you campsite.
