New parkland has been donated to the Comox Valley Regional District. The Jack Shark Park will provide 6 acres of hiking trails for residents.

CVRD spokesperson Edwin Grieve says the 3 lots will serve generations to come.

He says $50,000 dollars has been donated by the late Mark Krotter for upgrades to make this a popular and well maintained hiking spot.

Jack Shark’s daughter Anne Lawrie says it will be a nice way for her daughter to remember her grand-father.

The new parkland is located on Treherne Road in Courtenay.
