JRCC reminding boaters to be safe on the water
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre is reminding boaters to use caution on the water this weekend.
Crews were called out to 11 vessels aground or taking on water over a four day period.
Major Justin Olsen says the most important thing is to make sure you wear a life jacket.
Olsen says most calls the centre responds to with small pleasure crafts are for break downs or running out of fuel.
He says almost all of those calls could be avoided by ensuring boats are properly maintained and you make sure you keep some fuel in reserve.
