Long weekend for BC Ferries

BC Ferries is expecting another busy weekend for their major routes.

With the increase in traffic, Ferries spokesperson Darin Guenette says they fit in the maximum number of sailings they can during the peak season. He says they run the larger vessels as much as they can.

He says it’s good to remember that morning and nights are usually less busy sailing times.

Guenette says if you have flexibility in travel times, you should reserve your spot ahead of time, and always check current conditions on the BC Ferries website.

The company has also announced that the Queen of Burnaby is back in service after undergoing repairs.

The MV Island Sky has returned to the Saltery Bay-Earls Cove run and the North Island Princess has resumed regular sailings on the Texada Island-Powell River run.
