ICBC reminds drivers of motorcycle safety
ICBC is reminding motorcyclists to be extra cautious on the roads this summer.
Spokesperson Hilary Matheson says it’s important for motorcyclists to remember to share the road with other road users and never assume that other drivers can see you.
Matheson says on average in BC, about 350 motorcycle riders are injured in crashes during the months of July and August. In that time frame, 13 of those individuals are killed in crashes.
Matheson says they recommend motorcyclists always wear proper safety gear and a helmet that meets the DOT and ECE standards.
