Johns introduces National Cycling Strategy

The MP for Courtenay-Alberni has introduced a bill that will promote and help grow the cycling community in Canada.

Gord Johns says the National Cycling Strategy will encourage more Canadians to bike – which has a number of benefits for the country. He notes cycling encourages healthy living, and is low cost and environmentally friendly.

He says the strategy would focus on cycling friendly infrastructure, education and safety standards.

Johns adds implementing a strategy like this would reduce congestion and provide a safer and healthier living environment.
