The crew of a Royal Canadian Air Force CH-149 Cormorant helicopter conducted a medical evacuation of an injured hiker on Wednesday, from Cullite Cove, on Vancouver Island.
2nd Lt. Jennifer Halliwell says Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Victoria received a call indicating a hiker was injured on the West Coast Trail, in need of medical evacuation.
She says crews from 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron got on scene at approximately 2:30 p.m.
The patient was hoisted into the helicopter and flown to Victoria General Hospital where she was transferred in stable condition.
