Hydro warns to stay away from Puntledge River for the next few days

People are being urged to stay away from the Puntledge River for the next few days.

BC Hydro spokesperson Stephen Watson says they are anticipating up to 140 millimetres of rain in the upper watershed by Thursday. He says the reservoir is well positioned, and they are initiating a high volume spill of water for flood risk management purposes.

Watson says Hydro and other stakeholders will be closely watching the Browns and Tsolum rivers to adjust flows around when those rivers may peak.
