Puntledge River to stay at high level as rain continues

BC Hydro says the Puntledge River will remain high through the week as another set of storms is set to hit the region.

Spokesperson Stephen Watson says the watershed has received almost 1000 millimetres of rain in the last few weeks and there’s more rain on the way.

He notes that Hydro was able to lower the Comox Lake reservoir by about 50-60 cm through Sunday and Monday.

Watson says they will be keeping an eye on the Browns and Tsolum Rivers and will adjust the spill to try to avoid downstream flooding during the high tides.
