Air quality advisory issued for the Comox Valley
An air quality advisory has been issued for the Comox Valley. Island Health and the Ministry of Environment have issued the advisory.
Doctor Charmaine Enns with Island Health says an advisory is issued when there’s a spike in air pollutants.
She notes advisories are also sent out to forewarn people that have conditions like asthma so they can reduce their exposure to the air and aggravate their health conditions.
Open burning restrictions are also in effect for the Valley within 15 kilometres of Courtenay City Hall.
Enns says she suspects the air quality advisory will be lifted by Friday morning as conditions improve.
