Crown Isle Golf Resort pulls plug on latest project

Some major concerns from the owner of Courtenay’s Crown Isle Golf Resort with staff at Courtenay City Hall. Ron Coulson says he is fed up with what he calls a slow approval process, which has forced him to put his latest residential project on the shelf. He says earlier on he enjoyed a solid working relationship with city staffers.

Coulson was referring to City of Courtenay CAO David Allen, who says he has been working with developers in dealing with their issues.

Meanwhile Coulson says the goal posts in the development approval process just keep on changing.

Meanwhile back at Courtenay City Hall, CAO David Allen says city officials are working on streamlining the residential and commercial development process, including facilitating better communication between various departments.
