Comox Valley schools receive funding for upgrades and supplies

The Comox Valley School District will benefit from almost $1-million in provincial funding.

$588,600 will go towards upgrading exterior walls and lighting at seven different schools as part of the School Enhancement Program. $404,434 will be used for new school supplies like lab equipment, textbooks and art materials. Those funds come out of the new Student Learning Grant.

“Schools in our province are world class, and these upgrades to our facilities and additional supplies for our students will help to ensure that our learners continue to receive a world-class education”, says Comox Valley MLA Don McRae.

The one-time Student Learning Grant is giving school districts a total of $27.4-million. The School Enhancement Program is providing $53-million to support 223 projects across the province.
