BC Hydro is warning Comox Valley residents to stay away from the Puntledge River until at least Friday, as they’re increasing river flows with all of this wet weather hitting the area recently.

Stephen Watson with BC Hydro says, they increased river flows by about double on Tuesday night, in anticipation for more rain today and Thursday.

He says there is warning signage posted along the river now, just in case people do forget.

Watson says we should see some dryer conditions heading into next week.
