Three Abotsford men will share a 10 thousand dollar fine after they were caught illegally hunting near the Inland Island Highway in Campbell River.

The men plead guilty to hunting during prohibited hours in an incident back in September of 2013.

Conservation officer Gord Gudbrunson says just after 3 a.m. one morning a concerned Campbell River resident called the RAPP line after seeing something suspicious. Joined by the RCMP the conservation service investigated and found three men had killed a deer.

Gudbrunson says one of the men’s hunting rifles was also forfeited by the court.
