Grow Your ‘Stache in Support of Men’s Health

Men across the world are growing out their moustaches as part of the annual Movember campaign.

Director of Development Mitch Hermansen says the event strives to raise awareness on men’s health issues like prostate cancer and depression.

“The reality is that men’s health is a very important issue that we need to talk about and this is the month to take action.”

He says there are a number of ways to get involved. “Whether that’s growing a moustache, maybe it’s booking an appointment for your dad to go to the doctor’s [or just] having a conversation around men’s health.”

Hermansen notes that 55,000 people registered their moustaches as part of the campaign last year.

“There’s [also] an option on our website called ‘MOVE’, which is basically a physical activity challenge. You do it for the month of November and it’s a distance challenge,” he says.

“You can walk, run, swim, bike, row, whatever it is [and] you set a distance target and you get physically active for men’s health.”

You can find out more about the annual initiative through the official Movember website.
