Comox Boosting Town’s Recycling Program
Later this month, the Town of Comox will be teaming up with the Recycle BC program.
Mayor Paul Ives says the initiative will actually help residents save some money.
“The positive impact to our community is not only can they recycle more, but at less cost because up to this point, our recycling program has cost taxpayers somewhere in the $180,000 to $200,000 per year but by joining up with the Recycle BC program, we now can offset those costs completely.”
Ives says there will be an educational campaign to keep residents up to date with the program.
He adds not only will this save money, but will have many environmental benefits keeping products out of landfills.
