Police investigating armed robbery of Courtenay gas station

COURTENAY, B.C.- The Husky Gas Station in the 2300 block of Cliffe Avenue was the scene of an armed robbery late Wednesday night.

In a release, Constable Rob Gardner of the Comox Valley RCMP said a male, described as 5 foot 9, entered the gas station with a weapon at around 10:25 p.m.

Speaking with 98.9 the Goat, Gardner could not disclose what type of weapon was used in the incident.

The man then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime section is investigating the incident, with the assistance of the Integrated Forensic Identification Section and Police Dog services.

Police are asking any witnesses with information to contact the local detachment at (250) 338-1321 and cite file number 2018-154.

Witnesses can also contact CrimeStoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Gardner said no injuries were reported in the incident.
