COURTENAY, B.C.- The Comox Valley RCMP is investigating an afternoon armed robbery at the Shell gas station at 157 North Island Highway.

According to the local detachment, a man entered the gas station at around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

He told staff that he had a weapon and after stealing some cash, fled from the scene on a bicycle.

The man is described as being approximately 5’11” tall.

The investigation is being led by the Comox Valley RCMP Major Crime section, with the assistance of the Integrated Forensic Identification Section.
