Courtenay hosting Transportation Master Plan open house

COURTENAY, B.C.- The City of Courtenay is developing a Transportation Master Plan.

The city has more than doubled in size over the past 25 years, and the Connecting Courtenay Transportation Master Plan will set up ideas for infrastructure needs for the next 20 years, as the region’s growth continues.

Staff is seeking community feedback on issues and ideas to be considered as part of the city’s long-term transportation network.

Residents can learn more about the current system and share their ideas about its future at a free, drop-in open house on Wednesday, March 7th.

The event will go on from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Conference Hall at the Florence Filberg Centre.

For any residents that cannot attend the event, the city will be launching on online survey.

Based on public input, Connecting Courtenay will identify existing issues, model future impacts, identify long-term improvements and set priorities for five and 10-year investments.

The draft plan will be presented to council this summer.
