COURTENAY, B.C.-The Comox Valley RCMP is investigating after getting a report of a sexual assault.

It happened sometime between 7:30pm and 8:30pm on April 11th at Sandwick Park. The RCMP says they didn’t get the report until just this past Wednesday. A woman told police she was grabbed from behind by a stranger, forced into a forested area, and sexually assaulted. No weapon was used.

The suspect is described as a husky man in his late 30s or early 40s, standing about 5’6” tall. He had short hair, scruffy red facial hair, light skin with freckles on his arms, and was wearing a black jacket and possibly dark jeans. The RCMP is asking anyone who may have witnessed this sexual assault to call them at 250-338-1321 and refer to file 2018-4964.
