Alcohol believed to be involved in Headquarters Road rollover
MERVILLE, B.C- A 67 year old man suffered minor injuries in a car crash last night.
According to the Comox Valley RCMP, the single vehicle rollover took place along Headquarters Road around 7:40 p.m., close to the intersection of Headquarters and Merville Road.
The man had gone off the road and into the brush, becoming trapped in his vehicle. The Courtenay fire department responded to the scene, and the man was taken to hospital via ambulance with police going as well.
“The police officer who went to the scene formed the opinion that the driver had consumed alcohol,” said Constable Monika Terragni, the spokesperson for the detachment.
“All of the circumstances surrounding this investigation will be forwarded to the BC Prosecutor’s Service for their evaluation of charges for impaired driving.”
No other injuries were reported from the scene.
