Day of Reconciliation: A New Tradition
Ottawa has announced the creation of a new stat holiday, they just have to figure out if it falls on September 30th or June 21st. And I use the term holiday loosely, it’s by no means for a happy reason, the new day is supposed to give us a moment to stop and reflect on our terrible history with the Residential Schools. I think having a day to acknowledge it is a great start, but it needs something. Every single holiday has a tradition. Christmas, New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving….
