Highway 19a north of Courtenay closed after motorcycle crash

MERVILLE, B.C- The Old Island Highway is getting briefly closed this afternoon.

Police have said the closure is due to a motorcycle crash, which is not believed to be serious.

However, there is debris on the highway at the intersection of Stephenson Road and the route.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

The road should be re-open in roughly half an hour.
