Drink some water. Hydration is key, whether it’s water, juice or pop, as long as it’s non-alcoholic, it should help ground you and give you something to focus on besides how you’re feeling.
Try going for a walk. Somewhere familiar where you’re not going to get lost is best. Fresh air and movement will help keep your mind distracted, that is, IF you’re in any mood to get up. If not, try the next option.
Take a shower. Or a bath, as long as you’re in a place where you can do so. The warm water is a great way to help you relax.
Distract yourself. Try to focus on something familiar that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. Whether it’s watching TV or a movie, listening to your favourite album, or just talking to a friend, something familiar can help ground you and remind you that you’re safe and ok. Take a nap. If you can find a safe quiet place to relax and focus on your breathing, chances are you’ll fall asleep, and by the time you wake up you’ll most likely be way better.
