Courtenay firefighters quickly put out early morning truck fire

COURTENAY, B.C. – It didn’t take long for Courtenay Fire Department members to put out a fire, after a pick-up truck was completely consumed by flames early this morning.

At roughly 4:00 a.m. crews received a call of a vehicle on fire along the 2100 block of Cumberland Road.

When firefighters arrived, a GMC Silverado parked in the driveway of a home was engulfed in fire.

There were no injuries reported and no damage to the home.

Fourteen firefighters attended the fire, which is under investigation.
