Bomb threat email asked for ‘large sum of money’ from Comox Valley RV

COURTENAY, B.C. – It’s business as usual at Comox Valley RV, after a threatening email from an anonymous source caused the evacuation of the building of the East Courtenay business.

The email came through this morning, asking for what owner Danny Keyes described as “a large sum of money,” or the sender “would blow up the building.”

Keyes said RCMP sent its explosive K9 unit to the scene, to inspect the building while employees waited outside.

“The police were very efficient,” Keyes told the MyComoxValleyNow.com newsroom.

“We didn’t take it seriously,” Keyes said. “We didn’t consider it to be a true threat, but we didn’t want to take any chances.”
