The crash scene of a fatal accident on Highway 19, The Inland Island Highway, about 10 kilometres south of the Cumberland Interchange, has been cleared away and the highway has now re-opened to all traffic. A northbound Parksville driver was killed after his vehicle lost control on black ice, crossed the median and struck a southbound semi trailer, just before 9 AM.
