Multi-residential development planned behind Thrifty’s

Story by Troy Landreville, MyComoxValleyNow.com

COURTENAY, B.C. – There are designs for a multi-family development on the land behind Thrifty’s Foods in Courtenay.

A 16-unit, multi residential development (consisting of two five-plex buildings and two three-plex buildings) is being proposed for the empty lot.

There is a request for side yard setback variance (from 4.5 to 2.1 metres).

The applicant/agent is Carsten Jensen Architect, and the MyComoxValleyNow.com newsroom has reached out to developer Shawn Vincent for comment on the project.

The land has been most recently used for a homeless camp, but the camp has since been cleared.
